Description

Work and study programme is a great way to start your new life in London. This programme is available to EU citizens only.

Thinking of moving to London? If so, great choice! London is one of the world’s best cities and a truly unique place to live. However, there are a lot of important things you need to know before and after making your move.

At TELC UK we’ve met a number of people who decided to change their lives and move to London in search of a better future. Hence we’ve created a six-week intensive course which allows you to enter the job market with ease and improve your English at the same time.

London is a place which offers fantastic opportunities, and everyone should be able to find their dream job in the city, as long as they are motivated and persistent. We’ve been working with several recruitment agencies in London specialising in various fields such as IT, hospitality, education and finance, so depending on your experience and level of English, we’ll be able to help you get the job that suits your skills.

Once you successfully pass the recruitment process you’ll be offered:

– Regular long-term positions
– Full time or part-time hours to suit your timetable
– Weekly pay
– Up to 28 days holiday per year, depending on hours worked

What are the requirements?

– EU passport holders only
– Age: 18-40
– English level: Lower Intermediate

How does the Work and Learn English programme look like?

This work and learn English programme consists of a period of studying followed by a period of work placement/internship ( paid or unpaid depending on your experience). So, first you learn English for the duration of 6 weeks and then you start the work experience/ internship.

Please note that the unpaid work placements are always entry level positions in the service industry (restaurants, hotels, stores,…). If you are looking for a work experience related to your career or studies, then the unpaid/paid professional employment opportunities are more adapted for you.

What does the Work and Learn English programme include?

The programme includes:

– 6 weeks of intensive English courses (A1-B2 level classes from 9:30-13:45 Mon-Fri)
– writing a CV and cover letter
– preparing for interviews
– help in getting a National Insurance number
– assistance in opening a bank account
– guaranteed interviews with prospective employers/ recruitment agents
– finding and successfully securing relevant work placement/internship
– full help, guidance and support
– arranging accommodation (optional, £165 per week)

What do you learn during the intensive English course?

The intensive English course covers speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, and it also includes grammar and vocabulary. The main emphasis of this course is on practical communication, that means speaking and listening skills, in order to build up your vocabulary and help to develop fluency and confidence.

First we check your level and allocate you in the right group. Your lessons take place in the mornings and afternoons (9:30-13:45).

Classes at TELC UK are usually small 6-10 students, which means that your teacher can give you the personal attention you need. You are given plenty of opportunities to practise the spoken English language through discussions, debates and conversation activities, such as role-play and pair-work.
